This could be the best campaigns to support an immigration reform.
A human rights organization called Breakthrough has faced the discussion on immigration reform in a unique , original, fun , and one that just might l help change the minds of many people who are against immigration reform.
The ‘fake’ campaign, called ‘Legals for the Preservation of American Culture’ , call for the deportation of one of the icons of this country , the Statue of Liberty- which was a gift from the French government to the U.S.- for having entered this country illegally and without papers.
Ishita Srivastava, one of the promoters of the initiative, said: ” We wanted to give a different approach to the reform and get more people interested in the subject.”
According to Srivastava , ” now most Americans are in favor of reform, but many people believe it is an issue that does not affect them. So we thought that using an innovative format, we could get more people interested.”
The activist said they chose the Statue of Liberty “because it is a symbol of EU and immigration, and the gender issue” .
In the video, the Statue of Liberty comes to an immigration office with a strong French accent, “Lady Liberty ” where she attempts to defend her rights for being in the country.
